CHISLETT'S GO ONE BETTER

Christian and David Chislett of Chichester won the final event of the £2500, 1999 Frank Sandell and Peradon Grand Prix series by winning the A&M Trophies, New Central Xmas Family Match. Last year's beaten finalists went one better by beating James and David Nimmo of Lancing in the final.

Over 80 pairs of juniors and adult partners competed for a vast array of prizes and as usual the whole club was decorated to ensure that the day had a light-hearted Christmas feel. The age range of the competitors spanned more than 75 years from a 7 year old junior to an 82 year old Grand-dad!

The first 65 losing pairs also competed in a handicap event and after an amazing number of black ball finishes, Adam & Richard Chisnall also of Chichester took the handicap title by beating Crawley's Katie and Malcolm Lockett.

Chichester made a clean sweep of the prizes as Christian Chislett took the junior highest break prize with a 34 in his quarter-final match against another Chichester pair, Chris Dynes and Paul Byles. Byles took the adult high break prize with a 30 in the same match.

Best performance awards went to Kara Golesworthy, 13, of Cranleigh, Surrey and one of the younger entrants, nine year old James Cooper of Worthing.
